In a daring midnight operation, Jubbaland State forces, in close coordination with the elite Danab Commandos of the Somali National Army and international partners, executed a meticulously planned raid on the village of Maqooqaha, approximately 13 kilometers west of Buulo Haaji in the Lower Juba region.
The operation, targeting hideouts of the extremist Khawarij militants, resulted in the elimination of more than 37 fighters, including several high-ranking commanders. Military officials leading the mission confirmed that the identities of the slain leaders will be officially released soon.
The successful strike underscores Jubbaland’s unwavering commitment to eradicating extremist elements from its territories and restoring lasting peace and stability to the region.
Ongoing joint operations by Jubbaland forces, Danab Commandos and allied partners continue to significantly weaken the operational capacity of the Khawarij militants, bolstering security across Lower Jubba region of Somalia.
