In a major breakthrough for regional stability, the Jubbaland Minister for Interior and Reconciliation, Mohamed Oogle, has successfully led mediation efforts that resulted in the return of Gedo Regional Police Commander, Col. Hussein Giif, to the ranks of the Jubbaland administration.
Following a series of intensive and strategic meetings between Minister Oogle and Commander Giif, the police chief has now pledged full allegiance to the Jubbaland government. He has also publicly denounced the political interference and destabilizing activities allegedly orchestrated by the faction aligned with Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in the Gedo region.
Speaking from Balad-Hawo, Minister Oogle emphasized Jubbaland’s unwavering commitment to genuine reconciliation and unity.
“Our priority is to safeguard peace, uphold law and order, and strengthen the unity of the people of Gedo and all of Jubbaland,” he stated.
The Minister is currently spearheading robust efforts to counter external political interference and reinforce the cohesion of the region’s security forces.
The Jubbaland administration has reiterated its dedication to protecting the peace and stability of its territories against any attempts to sow discord.
Local police officials and Gedo regional authorities have welcomed Commander Giif’s decision, calling it a pivotal step toward restoring public trust and reinforcing the legitimacy of the regional government.
