The head of malaria prevention in the Jubbaland Ministry of Health, Abdikhadar Mohamed Ali has called on the public to be aware of the health risks that can come from mosquito bites.
Abdikhadar said that it is necessary for the community to use mosquito nets and other mosquito repellants to prevent malaria cases.
Abdikhadar also called on the community to protect vulnerable people such as children and the elderly from the negative health effects of malaria especially during this rainy season, which is the time when mosquitoes are most active.
