Somali Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, accompanied by President of Ethiopia’s Somali region Mustafa Mohamud Omar Cagjar, arrived in Degeh Bur town in the Somali region on Wednesday.
Prime Minister’s delegation was welcomed by community members, including traditional elders, women and youth groups.
Prime Minister Hamsa will meet with the town administration, elders, and civil society to discuss and prioritize security and cooperation in the fight against the al-Qaeda-affiliated armed group Al-Shabab.
According to sources, the Prime Minister’s delegation will visit Godey and Kebri Dehar to continue meetings with the local communities.
President of Ethiopia’s Somali region Mustafa Cagjar and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi previously discussed cooperation in combating and eradicating the al Shabab militants during their at the Presidential palace in Jigjiga on Monday.
