Somalia, China discuss bilateral relations

The Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisaid Muse Ali, had a telephone conversation with his counterpart of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, discussing the strengthening of bilateral relations based on respect and protection of national sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity between the two governments.

The two ministers largely focused on strengthening the historic ties and cooperation between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the People’s Republic of China and how the two countries can work together in the areas of security, humanitarian response, trade development and economic cooperation.

The Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation thanked the Chinese government for its role in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Somalia affected by the ravaging drought and underlined Somalia’s commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
