Hundreds of people have today morning gathered at Wamo football stadium in Kismayo, Jubbaland state of Somalia to conduct rain prayer following biting drought situation in Jubbaland state.
Jubbaland Minister for Justice and Religious Affairs, Mohamed Yusuf Omar also took part in the rain prayer event.
The Justice and Religious Affairs Minister said that only Allah can intervene and assist overcome the ravaging drought situation currently plaguing parts of Jubbaland state and thus the need to conduct rain prayer.
” We found it wise to conduct rain prayer to seek Allah’s will in a bid to overcome the current drought and other disasters in the Jubbaland state,” Said Mohamed Yusuf Omar.
A severe drought is currently being witnessed in many parts of the country, especially in Jubbaland state which has affected the lives of pastoralists as well as livestock.
