EU unveils plans to address climate change

EU climate change chief Frans Timmermans has announced plans to cut off greenhouse gas emissions so that humans have the opportunity to fight climate change.

The EU’s plan is to end the sale of diesel-powered cars by 2035, one of the toughest anti-gas measures to date.

The union has for the first time announced plans to tax the fuel used by ships and aircraft, and has imposed special tariffs on carbon used in cement, steel and aluminum in imported countries.
