Jubbaland state president lauds Jubbaland farmer’s efforts amid short rainfall in the regionDespite short rainfall in many parts of the Jubbaland state of Somalia this year, poor spring rains are expected to begin this season.
Pastoralists as well as farmers heavily depend on rainfall. The pastoralists rely on pasture and rainwater for their livestock.
The Jubbaland regional state President Ahmed Mohamed Islam has posted a short statement on his Facebook page about the short rainfalls in Jubbaland which has spelled doom for both farmers and pastoralists.
The president also praised the hard work of farmers in areas north of Kismayo who have benefited from the spring rains in those areas.
