Although the United States has again blocked a Security Council resolution calling for an end to hostilities, US President Joe Biden has said he supports an eight-day ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian groups.

Biden informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States was working with Egypt and other governments to end the conflict.

According to a White House statement, Biden “urged Israel to do its utmost to protect innocent civilians.”

The report added that Biden “expressed support for the ceasefire and discussed that the United States, Egypt and other countries were working together to achieve that goal.”

Nonetheless, Biden ratified a $ 735 million arms deal with Israel.

International leaders and aid organizations have called for action to prevent civilian deaths and demolition.
