Reports from the Lower Shabelle region indicate that warplanes have bombed an area in the region by the Somali national army (SNA), in close collaboration with its international partners.

The heavy bombardment took place last night in the villages of Tawakal and Ugunji under Janale district in Lower Shabelle region, killing top Al-Shabaab officials and dozens of militants.

The officers killed in the shelling included Khalid Abdullahi, head of taxation in the Hantiwadag area of ​​the Lower Shabelle region, and Moalim Yusuf, head of security in the Lower Shabelle region, and other officials, according to the Somali military officials.

Officials have also revealed that the air strike and heavy shelling killed 5 other Al-Shabaab militants who were with the top officials during the airstrike.
