UN Security Council set to hold critical meeting on Somalia’s electoral and political situation

The United Nations Security Council is set to hold a critical meeting on the situation in Somalia today.

Participants in the meeting include the United Nations Special Representative for Somalia, Ambassador James Swan and other members monitoring the current situation in Somalia.

The conference will hear a briefing on the current political, electoral and security situation in the country from the United Nations Special Representative to Somalia, Amb. James Swan.

The United Nations Security Council will address a wide range of issues in Somalia’s disputed elections and is expected to issue a statement to the country’s political stakeholders.
