A statement from the Union of Presidential Candidates said that the current political situation in the country is resting on a tight rope and the ongoing controversy over the election.
Candidates said that as of February 8, 2021 today, President Farmajo would not be recognized as the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and called for the formation of a National Assembly composed of Speakers of both Houses, State Presidents, candidates and civil society representatives.
The Union of Candidates has called on the outgoing President of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi farmajo to abide by the constitution and the law of the land and is required to hand over power peacefully.
