The Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out an operation against Al-Shabaab militants in Barire Bridge and Nungare village in Barire district in Lower Shabelle, South West regional State of Somalia.
The commander of the 143rd Somali National Army, Ahmed Hassan Siyad said that an Al-Shabaab official named Sidow Nur Abu Muhsin and 18 others were killed in a planned operation in Barire Bridge and Nungare village.
The SNA commander said the slain militant was in charge of Al-Shabaab in the Lower Shabelle region although there were no independent reports confirming this.
The Somali national army and other security apparatus in Somalia have been carrying out surgical and tactical terror crackdown on the Al-Qaeda linked Al-shabaab terror outfit in major parts of Somalia.
