The Ministry of Livestock of the Jubbaland Government has launched a large-scale livestock treatment and vaccination campaign in Buulo Banaan, an area located southeast of Kolbiyow, aimed at improving animal health and strengthening livestock production across the region.

The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance veterinary services, safeguard livestock from preventable diseases, and support pastoralist communities whose livelihoods depend heavily on animal husbandry.

Through the campaign, essential animal health services are being delivered directly to residents in remote rural areas, ensuring wider access to veterinary care.

Officials stated that the treatment and vaccination drive will continue in the coming days across all surrounding areas of Kolbiyow that fall under Badhaadhe District. The campaign is expected to benefit thousands of livestock owners by improving the health and productivity of their animals.

The Ministry further announced that the program will be expanded to all accessible regions of Jubbaland. Veterinary teams from the Ministry of Livestock will travel throughout the state to provide treatment and vaccination services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting livestock development and enhancing the resilience of pastoral communities.

The campaign underscores Jubbaland’s broader strategy to promote animal health, boost livestock productivity, and contribute to the growth of the livestock sector, a cornerstone of the local economy.
