The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Jubbaland, Aydiid Suleiman Hashi, alongside several members of the Jubbaland Cabinet, led a large-scale tree-planting campaign in Buulo-Bartire to commemorate World Environment Day, an annual global event observed once a year.
The celebration brought together a broad spectrum of society, including both chambers of the Jubbaland government, youth organizations, women’s groups, and environmental activists, all united in a shared commitment to environmental protection.
This year’s campaign, held under the theme “A Protected Environment, a Balanced Climate, and a Green Future,” carried significant importance.
Participants actively engaged in planting trees, demonstrating a collective effort to promote environmental conservation and combat the effects of climate change.
Officials highlighted the campaign as a vital step toward building resilient ecosystems and fostering sustainable development across Jubbaland, while encouraging communities to take an active role in safeguarding their natural environment.
