The Director General of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Jubbaland State Government took part in a high-level coordination meeting on the BAXNAANO project held in Mogadishu.
The meeting was organized by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Somalia and focused on strengthening coordination for the implementation of the BAXNAANO program, a flagship initiative aimed at enhancing social protection systems and expanding employment opportunities for Somali youth.
The forum was officially opened by the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Salim Aliyow Ibro, who emphasized the critical importance of close collaboration between the Federal Government and Federal Member States in order to achieve sustainable development and long-term social stability.
In attendance was the Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Mr. Cabdi Cabdullaahi Raabi, alongside senior representatives from other Federal Member States.
The Head of the BAXNAANO Project, Ms. Fardowsa Ahmed Abdullahi, was also present.
The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance cooperation between the Federal Government and the Member States to accelerate the effective rollout of the BAXNAANO program.
Discussions focused on ensuring continuous support for vulnerable communities while creating sustainable employment and economic opportunities for young people across the country.
Participants engaged in in-depth deliberations on the most effective mechanisms for delivering social services to those in need. The meeting also reached a consensus on the need to strengthen inter-institutional coordination to achieve tangible and impactful outcomes.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs reaffirmed its strong commitment to advancing Somalia’s social protection framework and promoting youth employment, recognizing these efforts as essential pillars for national economic growth and social cohesion.
