The meeting addressed growing instability allegedly fueled by the administration of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, whose actions are reportedly aimed at inciting prolonged conflict along the border areas of Gedo. Officials warned that such provocations could have far-reaching consequences for the entire Horn of Africa.
The Jubbaland Ministry of Security briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments in the region, expressing concern over what it described as a deliberate strategy to extend unrest beyond Somalia’s borders into neighboring countries. The ministry emphasized that this poses a serious threat to regional stability and could result in outcomes detrimental to the Somali people.
In a separate presentation, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change introduced a new urban waste management policy. The initiative is designed to enhance environmental protection and improve the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of cities across Jubbaland State.
