The Ministry of Health of the Jubbaland State has convened a high-level meeting in Kismayo to officially endorse the formation of the Pharmaceutical Supply Management Technical Working Group (PSM TWG) — a pivotal step toward enhancing the region’s healthcare supply systems.
This strategic gathering marks a significant milestone in streamlining the management of medical supplies and equipment, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across Jubbaland.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including:
Mohamed Hirsi, Director of the Department of Medical Supplies and Equipment at the Federal Ministry of Health of Somalia, Dr. Mohamed Bashir Nur, Acting Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Health and Director of the Family Affairs Department, Ismail Ali Mahmoud, Director of Health Services at the Jubbaland Ministry of Health, Departmental directors from the Ministry;
Senior health sector officials, Representatives from international and local partner organizations.
The primary focus of the meeting was the approval and operationalization of the PSM TWG, which is expected to serve as a cornerstone in advancing the pharmaceutical supply chain system in Jubbaland state.
The Ministry praised the active participation of all attendees and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration between government institutions and development partners.
