Dhoobley Airport Reopens for Flights Services

141

The Dhoobley Airport in Lower Jubba has resumed flight services after a period of suspension. The airport had been undergoing extensive renovations in various sections which have now been completed.

Although the airport is now operational, it currently only accommodates flights coming from or heading to Mogadishu.

Passengers traveling from Kismayo to Dhoobley are now required to transit through Mogadishu, incurring additional costs.

A passenger travelling to Dhoobley via Mogadishu must purchase two tickets, totaling $300, which poses a financial burden on the residents of Jubbaland State.

This restriction has been imposed by the Federal Government of Somalia, led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his administration.
