Somali Council of Ministers approved a judiciary and justice agreement between Somalia and Turkey during Thursday’s weekly meeting in Mogadishu.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, who chaired the meeting, stated that the agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the legal sector. It will assist in legal matters, enable the extradition of suspects and criminals, and facilitate the transfer of individuals serving prison sentences.
Minister of Justice Hassan Moalim Mohamud also emphasized that Somalia has emerged from isolation and is ready to enter into agreements with the world to improve its judicial system.
The cabinet also endorsed a cooperation agreement between Somalia and Pakistan covering various sectors. However, the Council did not provide further details about the agreement that was passed.
