Governments of Kuwait and Oman extend relief food aid to drought-affected IDPs in Jubbaland state

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the Jubbaland Regional Government has today distributed relief aid to 5,000 displaced families in Kismayo.

The donation was courtesy of the government of Kuwait and Oman through the Zam Zam Foundation.

The women’s Association Chairperson of Lower Jubba region, Mrs. Fatumo Aden Kateela and Jubbaland Women Affairs minister, Adar Ismail Jureeti on their part expressed their gratitude to the donors of the relief aid and said the donation will go a long way in supporting the Somali people who are in dire need of relief aid and displaced by the drought in Jubbaland state.

Some of the donation beneficiaries who were displaced by the drought and benefited from the relief aid thanked the donors for coming to their aid at a time of biting drought.

The Deputy Commissioner of Refugees and IDPs in Jubbaland state, Mohamed Sheikh Khadar said that the donation has come at a time when IDPs in Jubbaland state were in need of relief support.

The Deputy Minister of the Jubbaland Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mohamed Osman Jamac thanked the Governments of Kuwait and Oman for the relief aid and assured that the donations will reach its target beneficiaries.
