Kuwait condemns suicide car bombing in Somalia

Kuwait Foreign Ministry Sunday condemned the car bomb explosion that targeted a hotel in Jowhar town frequented by Hirshabelle authorities on Sunday.

At least three people were killed, and seven others were wounded in the blast after the car bomb hit the entrance of the famous hotel named Nur-doob, located next to the presidential palace.

Hirshabelle minister of women Aasho Khalif Haji, minister of health Abdi Moalim and former deputy speaker of Hirshabelle regional parliament Anab Ahmed Isse, were among those wounded in the attack.

In a statement, the ministry stressed Kuwait’s ‘categorical and unwavering stance against violence and terrorism.

It also reiterated its calls on the international community to intensify efforts to tackle this dangerous phenomenon and rid humanity of its evils.

Kuwait went on to convey its condolences to the government and people of Somalia, along with the victims’ families and wished those injured a quick recovery
