The Kenyan government has apologized for allowing Somaliland to attend a function of foreign diplomats based in Nairobi, Kenya yesterday.
The Kenyan government has told the Somali government that it is “deeply regrettable” that the Somaliland flag was displayed during a diplomatic meeting between the Kenyan president and foreign diplomats in Nairobi.
A statement from Kenya’s foreign ministry said the move was not intended to give priority to anyone from Somaliland.
The Kenyan Foreign Ministry further told the Somali embassy in Nairobi that Kenya recognizes the unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and values of the Somali federal government.
