The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Jubbaland State of Somalia has today held a two-day training workshop on domestic revenue mobilization awareness and consultations in Kismayo, Jubbaland state.
The two days training workshop which began today in earnest was attended by officials drawn from Jubbaland Civil Society as well as the staff of the Jubbaland Ministry of Finance.
During the workshop, the participants exchanged views on how to raise public awareness on paying local taxes as well as raising the level of awareness on revenue mobilization and generation among the local community.
Acting director of tax collection at the Jubbaland Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Abdikhadir Mohamed Borow who spoke at the workshop has underscored the importance of the training workshop on creating widespread awareness and mobilization on domestic revenue adding that it will help boost the state’s revenue.
