Saudi Arabia has lifted the direct and indirect ban on Saudi citizens from traveling to Indonesia, the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday.
The Ministry said the decision to lift the travel ban follows the continuous assessment of the coronavirus situation in the country in accordance with what has been submitted by the competent health authorities.

The Kingdom banned its citizens from traveling to Indonesia in July 2021 due to the outbreak of the pandemic and the spread of a new mutated strain of the Covid-19 virus. It also urged all Saudis who were present in Indonesia at that time to return home immediately.

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced earlier that Saudi citizens have been banned from traveling to 15 countries due to the spread of COVID-19 cases in those countries.

The list of countries includes Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, and Venezuela.
