Jubbaland Humanitarian Affairs Ministry distributes food aid to drought affected people courtesy of the Oman government

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the Jubaland State, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed along with the Kismayo District Commissioner and other officials have today distributed food aid to 1,200 drought-affected families living on the outskirts of Kismayo.

The donation to the IDPs was made courtesy of the Omani government on behalf of the Jubbaland Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

The food aid consisted of assortment of non-food items comprising of sugar, rice, palm oil, milk, dates and spaghetti.

The Jubbaland Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, said that Jubbaland government is doing everything possible to continue providing food aid to those affected by the ravaging drought and in need of urgent assistance.

Kismayo District Commissioner, Omar Abdullahi Mohamed Faraweyne who spoke at the donation event has thanked the Oman Government for the donation to the people affected by the drought.
