The Danab Special Forces have last night conducted a tactical planned security operation that cleared out an Al-shabaab camp site in Yaq-Halul near Berhaani area which is about 50km west of Kismayo.
The tactical security clampdown was carried out by the 5th Danab Special Engagement Cell and severely neutralized and degraded the Al-Qaeda-Affiliated terror network.
“A successful operation was conducted against Al-shabaab fighters in Yaq-Halul near Berhaani, about 50KM west of Kismayo.The security operation caused the death of scores of Al-shabaab fighters with no reported civilian casualties,” Top Danab official told Radio Kismayo.
According to the Source, the Danab brigade have managed to kill the terror cell leader and 10 Al-Shabaab militants during the operation.
The Al-Shabaab terror militants are said to have been harassing civilians in Yaq-Halul area.
The Danab forces have also managed to seize two AK-47 assault rifles and one PKM belt-fed general-purpose machine gun from the terror network.
The tactical planned operation was aimed at rooting out Al-Shabaab terror militants who pose a threat to peace and stability in Somalia.
The Danab commandos are highly trained special forces that are tasked to degrade the threat of the terror militants.
