President Hassan Sheikh holds private meetings in Baidoa, South West state

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Baidoa, South West state of Somalia where he is scheduled to hold talks with local leaders, traditional elders and members of the public.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud last night met with traditional elders in the southwestern region of Somalia to discuss strengthening peace in the Somali community.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who arrived in Baidoa yesterday, said the purpose of his visit was to ascertain the needs of the southwestern administration although there were other reports about the president’s trip.

The new Somali President is also scheduled to travel to other parts of the country ahead of his inauguration which is scheduled to take place in the mid of this month.
