The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mahdi Mohamed Guled has officiated the handover ceremony of nearly 3,000 tons of food aid by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
The event was attended by the Somali Minister for Relief and Disaster Management Ms. Khadijo Mohamed Diriye, officials from the Drought Commission and members of the United Nations.
The food aid will benefit nearly 300,000 drought-affected people. Somalia Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled praised the Saudi government for its generous support to Somalia.
