The US State Department on Wednesday condemned the hijacking of a Rawabi ship off the coast of Yemen by Houthi militants.
The US State Department says the hijacking poses a threat to international shipping in the Red Sea.
The Yemeni military has said in a statement that the attack on its ports in Yemen is a “military target” and will take action against anyone involved.
A spokesman for the Yemeni coalition, Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, said that in addition to a statement from the Coalition Command, the Houthi militia had hijacked the Rawabi ship while it was sailing in the Red Sea, forcing them to flee to the port of Salif.
