The president of the Jubbaland state Ahmed Mohamed Islam Ahmed Islam who is currently in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, is holding various meetings with representatives of the international community and other top Somali politicians.
The Jubbaland state President today met with the Speaker of the 10th Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi and Senator Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartag at his residence in Mogadishu.
The meeting between the Jubbaland President and Abdi Hashi discussed the latest political situation in the country and the Somali elections.
Senator Abdi Hashi told the President of Jubbaland state that it was critical to expedite the Somali elections and to hold them peacefully and in agreement, in order to end the current political transitional period. President Ahmed Mohamed Islam has yesterday met with United Nations Special Representative to Somalia, Amb. James Swan.
During his stay in Mogadishu, the Jubbaland state President will hold further meetings with representatives of the international community and other top Somali officials.
