EU member states have threatened to impose sanctions on Russia if it invades Ukraine.
A statement from the European Union (EU) headquarters in Brussels said European governments were taking “immediate steps” to cripple Russia’s economy.
The decision comes as Moscow warns of an imminent invasion of Ukraine. Russia has deployed large numbers of troops along its border with Ukraine, raising concerns about a possible war.
