Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and Hir-Shabelle state President discuss acceleration of poll process in Somalia



Former Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Hir-Shabelle administration President Ali Gudlawe met in the Somali capital, Mogadishu last night.

The meeting discussed the general situation in Somalia and the expeditious election of members of the Somali Parliament.

“We agreed on the importance of speeding up and transparent elections and the need to finally conclude the parliamentary elections before the end of December,” Said Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.

Members of the Candidates’ Union have been holding various meetings in Mogadishu in recent days, expressing concern over the delay in Somalia’s elections.
