Somali outgoing president and his delegation arrives in Kinshasa, Congo for a two-day visit

Outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his delegation have arrived in the Congolese capital Kinshasa for a two-day visit.

The Somali delegation were warmly welcomed at the Congolese International Airport by Congolese officials who expressed their commitment to developing bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

A statement from the Somali presidency said the president’s visit was aimed at boosting diplomatic co-operation between the two countries and at the continental level in the areas of security, economy, poverty eradication and extremism.

During their stay in Congo, the diplomats will hold talks with their Congolese counterparts and other African Union officials.
