Two members of the five-nation UN Security Council who have defected have sent a threatening message to the Somali government and regional leaders.
According to reports, members of the five-nation Security Council have informed Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble that they will impose sanctions on those who do not show remorse and become an impediment to the due Somali poll.

Reports last week said the UN Security Council had put pressure on incumbent Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and regional leaders to meet.
In the last two days, no progress and headway have been made in the meeting of the heads of state, regional governments and the governor of Benadir region in Mogadishu, Somalia.
