The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia, James Swan, has condemned yesterday’s shelling inside Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport.
The Somali-based Al-Shabaab terror group claimed responsibility for the attack at the Mogadishu airport. No UN facilities were damaged and no UN staff were injured by the mortars and shelling.
“I condemn this Al-Shabaab mortar attack on the Mogadishu airport, I wish a speedy recovery to those injured at other parts of the airport. Despite such acts of violence, Somalia’s international partners are committed to supporting the Somali people and continuing to support the country’s development,” Said James Swan.
