Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has convened a meeting on election issues with the Heads of State and the Benadir Region which is set to take place in a week’s time.
The conference, which will open on February 15 in Garowe, Puntland State of Somalia, is a culmination of the implementation of the agreement reached by the National Consultative Council in Mogadishu on 17 September 2020.
“Federal Government will continue to strengthen efforts in implementing the electoral agendas and discuss the issues with regard to its foundation for the implementation of the agreement approved by the House of Representatives and the Upper House on 26 September 2020,” said a statement from the presidency.
Conferences last further discuss issues pertaining the upcoming somali poll impasse which ended inconclusively at the Dhusamareeb conference and the leaders failed to reach a consensus.
