The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo issued the following decisions considering the political and security situation in the country and the need to move forward with the agreed elections:
1. The President shall convene a meeting of the heads of states and the Benadir region.
2- The conference will be held in Samareb, the capital of Galmudug State.
3- This consultative meeting will take place from 1st to 3rd February 2021.
4. The consultative meeting convened by the President of the Heads of States and Government shall be based on the agreement reached on 17 September 2020 on the electoral process and ratified by both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.
5. The President, in the discharge of his constitutional duties, shall convene an emergency meeting of the two Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia on February 5, 2021, to brief them on the general situation in the country and in particular the elections.
