Some ONLF offices in Somali regional government closed down

Most of the ONLF’s offices in the Somali regional government have been closed, a move that has been criticized by senior ONLF officials.

The closed offices are located in more than 10 villages in the Somali Regional State and a massive campaign has been underway since the ONLF was registered as a party in Ethiopia.

ONLF spokesman Abdikadir Hirmoge said it was unfortunate that several offices of the organization had been closed down in several villages in the Somali regional state.

The spokesman who spoke to BBC said that some members of the group were behind the plan to close down the offices, which he said were suspected of links to the government.

The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) has been at loggerheads with the Ethiopian government but has reached an agreement with the government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed which has opened offices in the Somali regional state, as well as for its leaders to live normally in other regions of Ethiopia.
