The Somali Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Balal Osma has met with the Ministry of Special Representative for Somalia (SRSG) and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), James Swan in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The two discussed strengthening co-operation and increasing effective humanitarian and development assistance in support of the Federal Government of Somalia’s programs to hold parliamentary and presidential elections on time.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the Federal Government of Somalia is implementing a reform plan based on security, justice, economy and development projects to meet the needs and aspirations of the people, revealing that the government should be consulted with state presidents and other stakeholders which is a domestic political development.
The Foreign Affairs minister said that it is important to consider defining the term constitution to move forward, avoiding the loss of time, destabilizing creation and hindering the development of the country for a peaceful prosperity.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohamed Ali-Nur Haji.
