DFS announces steps taken to isolated settlements from the grip of the Al-Shabaab terror militants

The Federal Government of Somalia has once again called on members of the Al-Shabaab militant group to leave and surrender to the Somali government.

Somali Minister for Justice Abdikadir Mohamed Nur Jama who was speaking from Wajid district said that the Al-Shabaab is a burden and an impediment to Somalia’s great future.

He said the Al-Shabaab had imposed sanctions on Wajid district and other areas under its control and called on them to ease the burden on the district and withdraw from those areas.

Minister Jama made it clear that the Somali Government and the South West Administration will not tolerate and will jointly lift the al-Shabaab siege of Wajid district and surrounding areas.

The statement from the Somali Minister for Justice Abdikadir Mohamed Nur Jama comes at a time when Wajid district and other areas in Bakol region are under Al-Shabaab control.
