The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Jubaland State Government, Ahmed H. Baraki, welcomed a high-level delegation from ECHO and UNICEF Somalia at the Ministry’s headquarters in Kismayo.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and advancing efforts to improve water services across Jubaland, with particular emphasis on addressing priority water needs and expanding access to safe and sustainable water sources for communities.

During the discussions, Minister Baraki expressed his appreciation to ECHO and UNICEF for their continued financial and technical support, highlighting their vital contribution to the development and improvement of water services throughout the state.

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured Luglow, where the Ministry implemented a water supply project in 2024 with funding from ECHO and technical support from UNICEF.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with development partners to further enhance the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of water services for communities across Jubaland.
