The Speaker of the Jubbaland Parliament, Sheikh Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman, accompanied by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Public Works and Housing, officially laid the foundation stone for a new Jubaland Revenue Collection Headquarters.
The modern facility is being constructed to strengthen the management and collection of government revenues, including land-based taxes and customs duties, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public financial administration and improve service delivery across Jubaland.
The project is being financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and is expected to provide a centralized and efficient working environment for revenue authorities, contributing to greater accountability, transparency, and effectiveness in revenue generation.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Jubaland officials underscored the importance of the project in supporting economic development and reinforcing institutional capacity, describing it as a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to modernize revenue collection systems and strengthen fiscal governance.
The new headquarters is expected to play a crucial role in boosting domestic revenue mobilization and supporting Jubaland’s long-term development agenda.
