Jubaland Darawiish forces based in Dhobley district, Lower Jubba region, have carried out a planned security operation in the village of Dhalan, near the Diif area, killing two members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, officials said.
Among those killed was a senior militant commander identified as Dekow, who was reportedly planning attacks in areas located along the Somalia-Kenya border. Security sources indicated that the commander played a key role in coordinating militant activities in the region.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts by the Jubaland Darawiish forces to combat terrorism and enhance security across Lower Jubba.
Military officials said the operation targeted individuals involved in planning and executing attacks against civilians and security forces.
Jubaland security forces have intensified operations against Al-Shabaab strongholds in recent months, particularly in Lower Jubba, as part of broader efforts to disrupt the group’s activities and prevent cross-border attacks.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continuing military operations aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and maintaining stability in Jubaland and surrounding areas.
