The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Jubaland State Government has officially received a HOBO Water Level Data Logger, an advanced monitoring device designed to track river water levels and improve understanding of changes associated with flooding.
The equipment was handed over to the Ministry by Task Space Bridge and is capable of continuously recording water levels and temperature data. The device can be deployed in rivers, lakes, and other water bodies to provide accurate and reliable environmental monitoring.
According to the Ministry, the data collected by the HOBO Water Level Data Logger will play a crucial role in monitoring fluctuations in water levels, particularly during flood seasons. The information will support the development of evidence-based strategies and plans aimed at mitigating flood risks and enhancing water resource management across Jubaland.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Ministry’s Director General, the Director of the Water Department, and several ministry staff members, who highlighted the importance of strengthening technical capacity to improve flood preparedness and response.
The acquisition of the device marks a significant step toward enhancing water monitoring systems and supporting informed decision-making for sustainable water management and disaster risk reduction in Jubaland.
