This international observance, held annually since 1948, dates back to the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, officially designating December 10th as the International Day for Human Rights.
The central theme for this year’s observance was “Daily Needs,” emphasizing the importance of ensuring that fundamental rights are met in the everyday lives of all citizens.
