The President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has commended the remarkable success of the Jubbaland security forces and the elite Danab Commandos in a joint military operation that dealt a significant blow to the Al-Shabaab Khawarij militant group in Lower Jubba region.
In a statement issued today, President Ahmed praised the bravery and coordination of the forces, highlighting the operation as a major milestone in the ongoing fight against terrorism. The offensive, supported by international partners, targeted militant hideouts in a rural area of Lower Jubba, resulting in a decisive victory.
“I wholeheartedly commend the joint operation carried out over the past few days by the forces of Jubbaland, the Danab Commandos, and our international allies. This mission has severely crippled the Al-Shabaab Khawarij militants and marks a turning point in our efforts to restore peace and stability,” said the Ahmed Islam, Jubbaland President.
The most recent operation took place in the Maqooqaha area, approximately 13 kilometers from Buulo Xaaji. Over 70 militants were reportedly killed, and a cache of weapons was seized. Additionally, three vehicles loaded with explosives were destroyed, preventing potential attacks on civilian targets.
President Ahmed Mohamed Islam has emphasized the unwavering commitment of Jubbaland and Danab forces, stating that their sacrifices are vital to ensuring the safety of the Somali people.
“Our forces are shedding their blood to protect our communities. Their courage and determination are driving the Al-Shabaab out of our lands and paving the way for a terror-free future,” he added.
He concluded with optimism, expressing hope for continued victories in the coming days that will further strengthen the region’s security and stability.
