A critical humanitarian coordination meeting between the Jubbaland Ministries and the UNICEF was today held at Kismayo airport, Jubbaland state
The meeting focused on strengthening the humanitarian coordination and cooperation in Jubbaland regional state.
The meeting was attended by the Ministries of Energy, Health, Environment, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Education and the Jubbaland Refugee Agency.
The key agendas discussed were the development of social services such as health, education, provision of clean water and tackling emerging humanitarian challenges.
The representative of UNICEF in Somalia Wafa Saeed has praised Jubbaland government its for continuous coordination and cooperation with UNICEF and pledged UNICEF’s support in dealing with humanitarian challenges in the Jubbaland region.
Jubbaland Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamud said that the support of the international organizations is critically important in dealing with emerging humanitarian needs.
Acceleration of essential services development with key emphasis on health, education and clean water was resolved in the meeting.
The UNICEF support is expected to make great progress in the humanitarian situation in Jubbaland regional state.
