The President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has today chaired a Cabinet meeting to discuss a raft of issues.
The Jubbaland state president haa praised security troops for their readiness in tackling matters related to security as well as maintaining high security during the country’s elections.
Meanwhile, the President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia spoke on the ongoing elections in the country and in Jubbaland state in particular, noting that various efforts are underway to complete the remaining members of parliament in the Jubbaland constituency.
The Jubbaland Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has also reported on the deteriorating drought situation and the coordinated relief efforts.
The minister said that the ministry will provide relief aid to 97,000 families next week with food aid and cash adding that this week the ministry will receive an international delegation who will participate in the EU Humanitarian Forum where he will report on drought issues in Jubbaland state.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Jubbaland state briefed the council on the training and monitoring of projects provided to several ministries and agencies working in coordination with international agencies involved in drought relief namely.
1) Juba River Flood Control Program
2) Biological program and construction of Burgaabo fishing center
3) Family fundraising data collection starting in Jubbaland state later this month.
