US President Joe Biden has said that there is a “general alliance” between European leaders and Russian forces on the border with Ukraine as the United States prepares about 8,500 troops for war on high alert to avert crisis in Ukraine, Pentagon says
The news comes as Russia denies any military action against Ukraine, despite deploying 100,000 troops along the border.
President Joe Biden is scheduled to hold telephone talks with his European allies to discuss the possible invasion of Russia.
NATO countries such as Denmark, Spain, Bulgaria and the Netherlands have sent warplanes and ships to Eastern Europe to bolster the region’s defense.
The Pentagon says it has not yet decided whether to send troops to Europe.
